Our robot-building abilities get stronger every year; however, the competition and game get more challenging every year. Undoubtedly, soccer is a world-renowned sport but who would have guessed it would work itself into the game this year!

The theme is exciting but brings its own challenges. Trying to translate the movements of human soccer players to a robot is not the easiest thing to do. Of course, FIRST has added its own spin on the game of soccer with bumps and towers. We never imagined one of our 120-pound robots doing pull-ups.

We're not whining, though - the excitement on kick-off day was contagious, even to bystanders! We collected our kit-of-parts and spent the next few days coming up with a game plan. The six weeks flew by and looking back now, we got a lot done and we're happy with the design and features of our robot.

Not only does our robot feature a mechanical "hand", but it also carries a kicking mechanism. The coolest part of our robot? The mecanum wheels. The multi-direction ability of the wheels only energizes our "Can't wait!" attitude to work with other teams on the day of the competition.
